Investigators and staff at HPDP work with communities to conduct research, provide training and translate research findings into policy and practice.
Research areas include nutrition and physical activity, cardiovascular health, diabetes, obesity, healthy food access, cancer prevention and control, children's health, rural health, and health equity.
HPDP is part of a network of 26 CDC Prevention Research Centers across the United States.
The Center's mission is to collaborate with research and community partners to:
Enhance the ability of public health practitioners, as well as individuals, groups and communities to promote health and prevent disease Identify funding opportunities and support high quality research Conduct, evaluate and disseminate innovative, community-based research, and Develop education and training programs to translate research into public health practice.
Position Summary This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy.
UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
This position will provide project management for a new Institute of Education Sciences (DoEd) grant to iteratively adapt, and pilot test a mindfulness-based social-emotional learning program to be delivered by middle school counselors in rural NC.
This position will direct all aspects of program implementation and evaluation, including IRB approvals, participant recruitment and data collection (surveys, ecological momentary assessment, interviews, focus groups).
They will assist the PI with preparation of technical reports and dissemination and will supervise research assistants.
Training will be provided in applied research methods with opportunities for independent research and publishing.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Doctorate required Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Postdoctoral experience of at least one year.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Ability to conduct, evaluate and disseminate innovative research.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
