Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and perform experiments and experimental analyses related to ongoing projects in the laboratory.
The Research Specialist will be a primary experimenter and data analyst for neurobiological studies and must be able to perform complex experimental procedures in the laboratory including:
immunohistochemistry, animal treatments, behavioral testing, animal sacrifice and perfusion, genotyping, animal colony management, and tissue preparation.
They are responsible for planning methods and techniques, conducting procedures, recording results, and assisting in the interpretation of data for each experiment.
This role requires the exercise of judgment and a basic theoretical knowledge of biology, chemistry, and neurobiology.
Work is guided by a general outline developed by the researcher and may include coordinating the laboratory facility, equipment and supplies and may also include coordinating and/or supervising the activities of other students and/or technicians in the lab.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience The Research Specialist must be able to manage animal colonies and perform rodent studies.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience It is preferred that candidates have an interest in increasing their repertoire of laboratory methods, publishing their research findings and participating in scholarly activities such as attending scientific meetings.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
