Position Summary The primary purpose of the Social/Clinical Research Specialist position is to manage the PRIME research program.
The person in this position will monitor subject retention and recruitment resources, track the effectiveness of recruitment strategies, and ensure data are collected according to study protocols.
This person is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising other study staff and work-study students in the collection of data according to the study protocols, ensuring that all study staff have completed and remain up to date in all trainings required for persons conducting human studies.
This person is responsible for assigning study staff to perform study evaluations or may directly perform certain aspects of data collection themself (for example neurocognitive assessments and phlebotomy).
This person will also coordinate study visit procedures with other organizational units (e.
g.
, Brain Imaging, EEG).
This position is responsible for identifying unintentional protocol deviations and reporting these to the study sponsor and UNC IRB as appropriate.
This position will also be responsible for assisting in the Genetics and Fluids coordination of a multi-site international research project.
This will include acting as the point of contact for all sites for research-related questions as well as managing, tracking, and shipping all study-related supplies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Experience with Microsoft Office, BOX, and REDCap is essential.
Experience in clinical research with human subjects is essential.
The ability to work well independently and with others in a team setting is critical.
Must be detail oriented, conscientious, and be comfortable communicating with staff and investigators at UNC, investigators at other sites, IRB Office, and study participants.
Must demonstrate ability to work and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment to coordinate multiple projects.
Excellent written and oral communications skills are a must.
Experience with IRB submissions, phlebotomy, administering neurocognitive assessments, and blood processing is required.
Previous experience managing research staff is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Experience with obtaining informed consent is preferred.
Experience working with research participants with psychosis is preferred.
Experience with interviewing, hiring, and training research staff is highly preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
