Position Summary This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy.
UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The primary mission of this executive would be to work with the school's Admissions team to increase the number of qualified applicants who identify energy as an area of interest, are admitted to the program and then commit to come to Kenan-Flagler.
This will involve the following activities:
Working closely with Marketing and Communications (MARCOM) to promote the Energy Center's brand - assuring that its advertisements, marketing content including videos, social media and in person events convey that UNC Kenan-Flagler is the place to study 'The Business of Energy.
' Frequently review contact information and applicant data on the SLATE program to identify candidates of interest, and then develop outreach plans to encourage them to apply.
Work with Admissions to assure they have detailed information and the Energy program's recommendations regarding target applicants contacted.
Connect target applicants with members of the Energy Center's Recent Alumni Council and Advisory Board so that these applicants may gain further insight into the program and its well-connected alumni network.
Provide advice to Admissions as regards especially well qualified applicants where financial support may be strategic in encouraging them to come to Kenan-Flagler and advise the Director as to best uses of the Center's own fellowship funding.
The Associate Director will also have the following fund-raising duties:
Steward the Advisory Board members as regards required and voluntary annual contributions.
Several of the Advisory Board members have volunteered their efforts to secure contributions from other companies in their industries.
The Associate Director will support their efforts to raise such corporate contributions.
This general activity encompasses working with the Duke Foundation on periodic/annual grant proposals.
The Associate Director will prepare new grant proposals and coordinate with relevant university administrative offices.
The Associate Director will work with the school's Advancement team in pursuit of major gifts to the program and/or matching gifts to the program's Endowment.
The Associate Director will coordinate with and promote cooperation with other Centers, especially the Center for Sustainable Enterprise.
The Associate Director will also develop opportunities for joint degree students, such as Duke Nicholas School/Kenan-Flagler MBAs, to take full advantage of the Energy programs offerings.
The Associate Director will also participate in all program major events, such as our Chatham House Rule conferences, student treks and the Clean Tech Summit.
Finally, the Associate Director will work closely with Career and Leadership, making sure that promising job placement opportunities get needed attention from the Energy program's leadership and helping to connect qualified students with these opportunities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience The successful candidate should have at least five years' experience working in higher education on activities such as fund raising, admissions, curriculum, and event planning.
Good interpersonal skills in dealing with student applicants and more senior executives is a requirement The position also calls for someone comfortable in working with a wide range of people, such as faculty, school administrators and corporate foundation staffs.
The candidate should also be experienced and comfortable working with computer systems and data bases, such as those with a HR and/or admissions focus.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Background and/or a specific interest or experience in energy will be an advantage.
Competencies in marketing and branding will also aid the candidate to being the preferred choice.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements Campus Security Authority Responsibilities This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act.
This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
