Position Summary Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine's Working Forward initiative.
As such, this position's work location is designated as Hybrid.
Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit's business needs.
This position will be responsible for supporting a variety of business and fiscal functions to address the needs of the department.
This position will support the department's Business Officer in managing grant operations.
The position will support faculty and trainees through the pre-award process including building and budgeting proposals, progress reports, other support, JIT, and liaising with central offices for institutional signatures.
While primarily focused on training grants and fellowships, this position may be assigned a portfolio of PI-specific grants to manage as the department continues to grow.
It will be necessary that this position establish an organized tracking system to use in support of completing training grant tables.
Additionally, this position will support daily business activities including facilities management, procurement, accounts payable and receivable, equipment/inventory/surplus, shipping/receiving, and travel coordination as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience The individual in this position must be an independent self-starter possessing excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal, and written communication skills, and must possess excellent attention to detail.
This person must have the ability to multi-task to successfully balance the demands of this position as well as successfully interact with the members of the unit, UNC central offices, external vendors, and guests of M&I.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
