Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR) oversees, develops, supports, and grows UNC-Chapel Hill's $1 billion research enterprise.
The offices reporting to the OVCR set strategic priorities for research, manage proposals and awards, provide research infrastructure, identify funding opportunities, develop research teams and partnerships, oversee regulatory compliance, and communicate the impact and value of the University's research enterprise.
The OVCR enables research endeavors for faculty, students, and scholars; encourages interdisciplinary research collaboration across campus; and fosters expansion and diversification of the University's sponsored research portfolio by collaborating with foundations, federal agencies, corporations, and the state and federal governments.
The Vice Chancellor for Research also oversees multiple pan-University, multidisciplinary research centers and institutes.
Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a high-level executive assistant to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor Research (SAVCR) and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR).
This includes managing the SAVCR's calendar, booking travel, scheduling meetings, and assisting with a variety of administrative tasks for the OVCR.
This position schedules and organizes searches and reviews for Research Division directors and manages the Phillip & Ruth Hettleman Prize for Young Faculty Award.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Exceptional professional interpersonal skills are required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products especially Outlook (email and calendaring), Word, and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as multitask.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to foster relationships with clients and customers at varying levels internal and external to the University.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Experience providing administrative support to a high-level administrator.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, triage and otherwise manage work flows in a fast-paced office setting, often dealing with sensitive and critical issues.
Experience managing workflows and developing process improvements in an office environment.
Experience developing PowerPoint presentations.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
