## Description
The Compliance Analyst has operational responsibilities for planning and implementing the compliance program for UNC Hospitals and coordinating the compliance activities with the other compliance functions for UNC Health Care. Works to address all aspects of the compliance function with emphasis on risk assessment, education, responding to questions and complaints, monitoring government concerns and reviewing activities to identify measurable evaluations for compliance.
1. Works closely with and advise senior management and physician leadership in clinical and non-clinical service areas to facilitate regulatory compliance, to assess need to develop and implement compliance education programs, and to track operational education.
2. Analyzes all available resources and information to perform a compliance risk assessment in order to develop annual work plans.
3. Develops or reviews audit plans to document compliance or to identify concerns. Monitoring should be planned to provide measurable results that document the effectiveness of the compliance program.
4. Implements all aspects of audit plans including necessary coordination or supervision of resources necessary to complete and document the process accurately, completely and in a timely manner.
5. Investigates and reports findings working with Chief Audit and Compliance Office, legal affairs and other functions as appropriate to understand and resolve any compliance issues identified.
6. Researches and responds to questions and complaints raised to the Compliance Office by employees, leadership or others
## Qualifications
Requires Bachelor's degree. Requires five years of related compliance experience in an academic medical center. CPA, MBA, MHA or JD or equivalent years of work-related experience in an appropriate health care setting is preferred. Understanding of healthcare reimbursement from payors and basic understanding of hospital, clinical staff, reimbursement, coding, billing and operational department functions, along with experience with hospital information systems including decision support is highly desirable.
