Position Summary
The Solar Energy Research Center (UNC SERC), directed by Professor Thomas J. Meyer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is seeking applicants for the position of Energy Scientist and Translational Research Manager. The focus of the UNC SERC is on research to accelerate scientific progress in advanced energy technology development. Activities are primarily centered at UNC-CH with collaborations at other institutions. This position will participate in energy-based research, lead translational research including the acquisition of research support, initiate collaborative research and partnerships with other institutions and industry, foster technology transfer, manage technical conferences related to energy research, and promote UNC energy research to external scientific communities and the general public.
Educational Requirements
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a related field; or M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a related field, with 3 additional years of research experience.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of 3 years of research experience, preferably in energy-related research. Superior management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be energetic, conscientious, collaborative, and have superior verbal and written communication skills. Work history should demonstrate a strong scientific background in fields relevant to energy research, experience in proposal writing, post-award reporting and scientific writing.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
