Position Summary
This position is located in the Center for Alcohol Studies. The principal purpose of this position is to facilitate and conduct research aimed at elucidating the neurobiological processes that underlie addiction. The successful candidate will have extensive experience performing standardized procedures that are used in neural circuit analysis, including stereotaxic surgery and behavior. The candidate must be capable of working independently, and also as part of a team. The employee will be required to keep detailed and accurate records of experimental test procedures and results, and present results to the PI. The employee will also be responsible for preparing publications for dissemination of experiments and concepts. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Educational Requirements
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Neuroscince or related field at the time of starting the position.
Qualifications and Experience
Familiarity with conducting behavioral experiments in rodents immunohistochemistry & western blotting is required. Ability to perform stereotaxic surgery is highly desired. Prior experience in handling rodent brain tissue and microtome and/or cryostat sectioning experience is highly desired. Prior experience in calculating drug dosage and preparing drug solutions is required.
